British director Ben Hume-Paton has an impressive portfolio of work to his credit, including his latest 360 film for Burberry, as well as spots for Betfair, Nike, Lipitor, Honda, Clairol, Dove, E45, and Veet for Havas New York. A winner of the Fuji Film Scholarship, Hume-Paton left university with a degree in graphic design and started out directing music videos. Setting up production companies IDP and then SOMA, which he fondly calls ‘boot camp’; this developed his knowledge of filmmaking. In 2007 while working for UK fashion brand NEXT on their catwalk fashion shows, Hume-Paton pitched and won the creative assignment to make their first commercial in 15 years. It was such a success that NEXT asked him to write and direct many of their follow-up campaigns. 2013 saw Ben’s first foray into drama, completing the TV Mini-Series ‘5-A-Side’, a 50 min comedy drama which garnered over 4 million hits on YouTube and looks to be re-commissioned in 2017.
