Daniel Kragh-Jacobsen (b. 86) directs narrative work, music videos and commercials, and has done so for more than 10-years. His work often exhibits a feel for the complexities of youth - narratives that capture small human moments, but seem to arrive there without pretence or effort.
He studied directing at the American Film Institute Conservatory (class of 2013), where his graduation film Turtle gained him a shortlist for the Student Academy Awards.
Daniel was one of the founders of the Scandinavian production company New Land, with whom he has collaborated on award winning commercial projects, most notably The Family, which won one Gold Lion at the Cannes Advertising Festival in 2016.
Recently Daniel has directed the short film Next Stop, which was nominated for a Danish Academy Award for Best Short in 2019. He has also written and directed two seasons of the youth web series Crazy Summer.
Most recently releasing the celebrated commercial piece The Lift for Bianco Footwear, which won two Bronze and one Silver Lion at the Cannes Advertising Festival in 2019.
Daniel is currently developing his debut feature as well as a Danish tv-series, scheduled to air in 2020. He continues to work in commercials.
