FINCH is a production company made of film-makers, artists, and engineers, working at the crossroads of storytelling, entertainment and technology. FINCH employs fifty full time staff, twenty-one directors, and hundreds of freelancers each year, with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland.
We make documentaries, live experiences, TV commercials, feature films and digital content. We hold several patents and actively develop and license products, innovations, and inventions that push the boundaries of conventional storytelling.
Founded in 2011, our work has been recognised with top honours including an Academy Award Nomination, an International Emmy Nomination, multiple Gold Cannes Lions and the Grand Prix for Good, two D&AD Black Pencils and several Yellow Pencils, a Grand Prix at The New York Festivals, multiple Gold at CICLOPE, Gold at LIA, a number of Gold Pencils at the ONE show, the AdFest Grande Lotus for Humanity.
The company has created live experiences for Unilever, Pedigree, SkyTV/Game of Thrones, Jack Daniels and Western Australia’s RAC, among others.In 2017 FINCH was recognised as Production Company of the Year by SPIKES Asia, was ranked Asia Pacific #1 Production Company and one of the World’s Top 5 Production Companies by the GUNN REPORT, one of the Top 6 Production Companies in the World by Shots Magazine, Asia Pacific #1 Production Company by BestAds, and AdNews Production Agency of the Year.
2017 also saw FINCH create two social good initiatives; Creatable and The Lion’s Share.
CREATABLE, a STEM based creative technology school curriculum that ignites passion and self belief in teenage girls as they prepare for the future of work. It’s seen a 625% increase in D&T elective enrolments at participating schools and is currently working with brand partners in the roll out of an internationally available digital curriculum platform.
THE LION’S SHARE, founded by Director Christopher Nelius and FINCH, launched at the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 with partners the UNDP and MARS Corporation. It is a simple but powerful idea that sees the corporate world make a small contribution each time an animal appears in their advertising, raising money for wildlife conservation and animal welfare. Sir David Attenborough is special ambassador, alongside UNDP ambassador, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Most recently FINCH was recognised as 2018 regional production company of the year at the London International Awards and named as Australia’s AWARD Award Production Company of the Year.
