João Caetano Feyer is one of the most highly regarded, young, up and coming directors of Brazil's new generation. Born in 1978, in Pernambuco, Brazil, he began his career at 21 years of age working as an assistant director to the world-renowned cult Brazilian film director Julio Bressane. After a few years as an AD, João Caetano kicked off his own directing career, devoting the next couple of years to both advertising and his own personal fiction projects, including his short "Balada Das Duas Mocinhas de Botafogo" based on a poem by famed bossa-nova musician Vinicius de Moraes. The film garnered the young director many awards, including "Best Film" at the 2006 AXN Latin American Short Film Festival, beating out 550 other films to be chosen by the TV channel's more than 11 million viewers. While working at Mixer, one of Latin America's largest production companies, João Caetano won a bronze lion at the coveted Cannes Advertising Festival. He now directs commercials for Hungryman, a prestigious production company with offices around the globe.
