Joán discovered the power of storytelling early in life. Raised in Spain in a middle-class family of seven people he quickly learned that making up stories was a fundamental survival tool.

Later with education in Fine Arts, Film, Photography, and Computing Engineering, Joán developed a career in the creative industry as film director and screenwriter, again making up stories, in Barcelona, Shanghai, and later Amsterdam, where he resides now with his newly formed family.

Joán’s eclectic style emerges from his interest in the different storytelling possibilities that filmmaking has to offer. Having directed from music videos to documentary,  Joan’s works have a clear common denominator, rough or delicate, independent or commercial, they are always elegant, and no matter the narrative, always manage to get close and personal.
