Palma Pictures is one of the world´s leading production service companies. We operate from our studio complex on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca and also from our office in the heart of the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona.

The company was founded in 1993 by Ola Holmgren and his wife Grete. Already a renowned Swedish commercials producer, Ola was one of the first industry professionals to recognise the filming potential Mallorca had to offer. When they moved down to the island they opened an office in the heart of Palma´s old town and their new venture was christened Palma Pictures.

The original team was made up of a mixture of enthusiastic locals and foreign residents and today one of the company`s strengths continues to be its diversity borne from this eclectic mix of cultures and backgrounds. English and Spanish are spoken by the whole crew as well as German, Italian, French, Dutch, Swedish, Russian, Japanese and even Icelandic.

The company now employs 45 full-time staff and supplements this by pulling from a pool of incredible freelancers on the islands and all over mainland Spain. In 2000 our 4.500m2 studio complex was inaugurated and in 2012 we opened a permanent office in Barcelona.

Palma Pictures has serviced over 1000 television commercials and 25 feature films. In 2007 we began to cater to the world of Photo and Motion and Palma Pictures Photo & Motion was established. This was also the year that Mike Day, CEO, Trent Walton, Executive Producer, and Ramon Caravaca, CFO, became managing partners of the company.

Palma Pictures has strong ties with the local government and authorities and in 2003 we received three awards for contributions to tourism and the local economy.

Palma Pictures is also committed to being a socially responsible company. We work together on a daily basis with crew, clients and suppliers to help create a more sustainable approach to high-quality film production. In 2010 we were awarded with both ISO 14001 & EMAS certification (for Environmental practices) and every corresponding year since. We aim to minimize our environmental footprint, to create a great workplace for our employees and clients and to promote diversity within the company.
