Tasha Van Zandt is an award-winning globally-focused film director, cinematographer and photographer who has traveled on assignment to over 75 countries around the globe and to all seven continents. Her work have been commissioned by numerous international publications and exhibited worldwide. She is a creator of cross-media projects for many of the world's leading organizations and works with clients such as National Geographic, TIME Magazine, The Guardian, Google, Adobe, Airbnb, among many others.

Her work has led her on assignments such as traversing the Antarctic peninsula by ship, exploring the Arctic by bush plane, documenting Buddhist monks on the Thai-Myanmar border, researching the effects of coral bleaching at the Great Barrier Reef, traversing the Negev by camel while documenting unrecognized bedouin villages, surveying UXOs in Laos, among many others. Throughout the year Tasha works for National Geographic Expeditions as a Filmmaking and Photography Instructor where she leads educational expeditions throughout Australia, Iceland, Tanzania and Japan. 

Recently, Tasha collaborated with the renowned artist JR to document the creation of TIME Magazine’s Emmy-Nominated Guns in America project and traveled throughout the country documenting varied perspectives on gun control from local communities. In February 2019, Tasha’s work was featured in TIME Magazine’s Optimists issue which was guest edited by filmmaker Ava Duvernay. Her film, The Making Of A Fresco, offers an intimate look into the creation of JR’s San Francisco Mural Project which is currently on display at the SFMOMA. Tasha is a 2019 Film Independent Fellow and member of the Film Independent Documentary Lab, Sundance Institute Fellow and member of the Sundance Music and Sound Design lab at Skywalker Ranch, as well as a SFFILM Sloan Development Grant Fellow.

Currently, Tasha is directing the feature-length documentary, After Antarctica, which follows the life of one of National Geographic's most celebrated polar explorer's. Throughout her work, Tasha is dedicated to capturing stories that foster empathy and using her lens as a tool to build cultural bridges that lead to greater global understanding.
