Thomas Ormonde is a British director and filmmaker who is best known for his work in commercials, creating colourful worlds with eccentric characters and a solid dose of comedy.
Thomas started making films at a young age, combining the idle boredom of childhood with regular access to his father's mini DV camera, which produced some experimental and often pointless results. Later on he would continue his interest in filmmaking at Bristol school of Art where he majored in animation. After graduating Thomas quickly found his feet in the industry, joining London based advertising agency Fallon, where he worked as a creative and in-house director. After 3 fun fuelled years Thomas would leave to set up the production company Lisbon Studio, specialising in animation and live action with a strong comedic tone. Now Thomas is a live action Director, creating comedy stupidness and delight for the likes of Lucky Generals, BBH, & Wieden & Kennedy.
To date Thomas has made commercials for major clients including the Virgin Media, Yorkshire Tea, ADIDAS, McCoys, Barclays, Stride Gum, Cadbury, Three Mobile, and Clarks to name a few.
