Warren Fu was born in Chicago, grew up in Los Angeles, schooled at UC Berkeley, honed his skills at Lucasfilm, and returned to LA to direct music videos and commercials.
Warren lives to conjure the impossible and bring audiences into the extraordinary worlds of his imagination. His creative impulses manifested themselves in the form of graffiti art during in his teens, and later as an art director at Lucasfilm, where he created prominent characters and designs for Star Wars and numerous other feature films. His Lautner-inspired set design for Daft Punk’s 2013 Grammy performance highlighted his talent as a creative visionary. As a director, Warren has created commercials for some of the biggest global brands such as Samsung, Adidas and Reebok. He launched Snoop Dogg, Pharrell and Stevie Wonder on a thrilling ride through future Los Angeles, immersed the Haim sisters in a world of stylish choreography, teleported Mark Ronson into a strange French-Japanese TV show, and took the Electric Light Orchestra on a heartfelt journey through a boy’s dreams. With each project he continuously strives to venture into new territories. Because of his instinct and understanding each client’s brand, he has established an unparalleled trust with some of the most respected artists and companies in the world. From the sprawling mythological universe of Daft Punk to the New York cool of The Strokes, it is this unique relationship with his fellow creatives that bring them back to collaborate time and time again.
